On November 19th, 2024, coinciding with International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, over 100 participants gathered online for the conference “Women Driving Resilience in Agriculture and Rural Areas”. This significant event was a key initiative of the Agro4SDGs project, highlighting the pivotal role of women in advancing gender equality and promoting female entrepreneurship in agriculture and rural development.
The conference served as a platform for discussions, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among female entrepreneurs and representatives from European NGOs. Participants explored innovative strategies, shared best practices, and reviewed policies to support women-led businesses and their contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

1. Climate Action: Agroecology and its Contribution to the SDGs Discussed the intersection of agriculture, environmental sustainability, and gender equality.
2. Female Leadership: Extraordinary Examples of Disruptive Women Entrepreneurs Showcased inspiring stories of women breaking barriers and driving change in diverse sectors.
3. Rural Areas Development: How to Become an Entrepreneur in the Agri-Food Sector? Provided practical insights and guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs in rural areas.
- Speakers: Seven distinguished experts from various countries and sectors shared their perspectives, complemented by a special video message from a Member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development in Poland.
The event successfully emphasized the importance of female-oriented businesses in fostering sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing rural livelihoods, and contributing to the global SDG agenda. It also reinforced the need for continued support and collaboration to empower women as catalysts for resilience and innovation in the agricultural sector.
